Owner and Operator, David Shoemaker started Shoemaker Irrigation in 1981. Since then Shoemaker Irrigation has installed irrigation systems for commercial & residential buildings, sports complexes, golf courses, nurseries, agricultural applications, and waste disposal systems throughout the southeast.At first, the business focused on Residential Irrigation. But the company branched out into Industrial and Agricultural Irrigation business.
Our contracting division is focused on industrial applications such as Dust Suppression, Waste Disposal, 100+ Horsepower VFD pumping stations, Center Pivots and Traveling Reel Guns (complete with gun carts), for the Agricultural market in the Eastern United States. Shoemaker began offering pivot install and pivot repair on all major brands in 1990, and has pioneered the use of Wireless Technology in the irrigation field through the use of Nelson’s TWIG control system.
In January 2016, Shoemaker Irrigation Supply — our residential irrigation store — had its Grand Opening. We are fully stocked in residential and commercial agricultural supplies. We offer a full line of sprinklers, valves, wire, pumps, landscape lighting and all necessary fittings. Unlike other residential commercial supply stores, Shoemaker Supply will have over 100 years of irrigation experience at its disposal.
That help comes from our two project specialists. Eric Skelton has been with Shoemaker Irrigation since 1985. Eric has managed some of the most prestigious Irrigation and pivot install jobs in the southeast — from large estates, to 14 field ballpark complexes, to large agricultural farms. As Electrical Specialist, Eric designs and programs the pump stations sold and installed by Shoemaker Irrigation.
John Coram joined Shoemaker Irrigation in 2014. John brings a wealth of knowledge in the commercial, agricultural and golf course irrigation industries. John is directly responsible for the system and pivot install of some of the most prestigious golf course irrigation systems in the world. John’s experience in the nursery field is valued by many growers throughout the southeast.
Along with installing Agricultural and Industrial irrigation systems including pivot repair and pivot install, Shoemaker Irrigation provides wireless irrigation technology from Nelson Irrigation. Our products are used to handle coal dust suppression, animal waste removal, and center pivot irrigation. In the past, agricultural irrigation has been a manually operated industry. Our wireless systems and controls offer reliable and improved efficiency in irrigation.
Shoemaker Irrigation has installed solvent-weld and gasketed piping in sizes ½”-30”, hundreds of pump stations including submersible, centrifugal, turbine and piston throughout the Southeastern region. This experience offers the residential/ commercial customer a resource otherwise unavailable in our area.
Shoemaker Irrigation has been awarded the irrigation installation by the University of Georgia for the Iron Horse Farm soybean research facility. Once completed, this facility will boast the largest wireless irrigation system in the world.
